Sussex is an institution which is proudly international

We have all followed with deep concern and outrage the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Europe.

In our 60 years, our strength and our value have been created in the coming together of many nationalities. We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and also those from Russia who deplore this unprovoked act of aggression and violence. It remains our hope that a lasting, peaceful settlement can be found with the utmost urgency.

Now is the time for our community to come together.

This is a very distressing and unsettling time for many of our staff and students with family ties to the region and we know that the wider Sussex community will show them compassion and kindness.

We are in contact with all our Ukrainian students and providing a range of support services to help them through this dark period.
